Cyrano De Quest is the second episode of the first season of Bailey's World.
Summary[]
Jonny develops a crush on Lynn Loud, oblivious to the fact that she likes him too.
Story[]
One day, Bailey, Jonny, Dice, and Hudson were walking out of their class and were heading to the cafeteria for lunch.
"So, how did you do on last week's US State & Canadian Province Capitols test," asked Bailey.
"Awesome," said Jonny, "I got an A+!"
"Sah-weet," said Bailey, "I got the same thing!"
"So did I," said Dice.
"I didn't do as good as you guys," said Hudson.
"Why," asked Bailey, "what did you get?"
"I got an A-," said Hudson.
"Hey," said Jonny, "that's still good!"
"Yeah," said Hudson, "Mr. Stone said I just need to remember that Bismarck is the capital of North Dakota and that Pierre is the capital of South Dakota."
As the boys were getting their lunch bags out of their lockers, Jonny saw Lynn Loud walking by and immediately stared at her with a love-struck look on his eyes.
"Jonny," asked Bailey.
"Yeah," asked Jonny as he snapped out of his trance.
"Are you alright," asked Dice.
"I think so," said Jonny, "I think Cupid got me with his arrow."
"What do you mean by that," asked Hudson.
"Simple," said Bailey, "I think he's got a crush on Lynn."
"Oooh," said Hudson.
"Anyways, let's go have ourselves some chow," said Jonny.
With that, the boys walked to the cafeteria, and when they walked in, Jonny saw Lynn talking to some of the students on her field hockey team.
"Man," thought Jonny, "what a chick!"
However, Jonny wasn't watching where he was going and bumped into the wall.
"Ow," Jonny yelled.
"Jonny," said Bailey as he ran over to his friend, "are you alright?"
"I think so," said Jonny, "But man, my head is killing me!"
"I think we should take you to the nurse after lunch," said Bailey.
"Agreed," said Jonny.
With that being said, they went to the nurse's office, where the nurse looked Jonny over. Fortunately, the bump on Jonny's head wasn't too bad and he was given a heat pack to help with the pain. A while later, the boys were driving back to Jonny and Dice's apartment building. Bailey's parents were out of town, and Bailey was staying with the Quests and Dice.
"So you really think you have a crush on Lynn," asked Freddie.
"Yeah," said Jonny, "I want to ask her out on a date, but I don't know what I should say."
"Don't worry, Jonny," said Henry, "we're here to help!"
"Thanks guys," smiled Jonny.
When they reached the building, they went up to Jonny's apartment and looked in the bathroom for some cologne.
"Here's one that might work," said Hudson.
Hudson held up a cologne labeled "Sharp-Dressed Man".
"Nice choice," said Jonny.
"Anyways," said Dice, "I think we'll have some Chinese food, gentlemen?"
"We shall," said Henry.
While Dice made a call to a Chinese restaurant and placed an order for delivery, Jonny, Freddie, Bailey, and Henry went down to the floral shop that was next door to the apartment building.
"Now," said Bailey as they went inside, "we'll need something that'll really knock Lynn's socks off."
"And something she'll like," said Henry.
Jonny then spotted a bouquet of yellow and white tulips that were arranged to look like a tennis ball.
"Bingo," said Jonny.
After buying the bouquet, they went back up to Jonny's apartment just as a delivery man arrived with the boys' orders. Jonny and Dice both got chicken lo mein, Hudson had dumplings, Henry and Freddie had chop suey, and Bailey had sweet and sour shrimp.
"Perfect timing," said Bailey as he paid for the food.
After the boys had their meals, they put the leftovers in the fridge, and, after Jonny combed his hair to one side, drove off to the Hardy/Loud residence. Bailey then got out his phone, put it on "Camera Mode", and hit the "record" button.
"OK," said Bailey, "so Jonny's about to ask Lynn Loud out on a date. Hope this works!"
Jonny then got out of the van, walked up to the front door, and rang the doorbell.
"I'll get it," said a voice.
Jonny saw the door open and saw a young man with black hair standing in the doorway.
"Who're you," asked the man.
"My name is Jonny Quest," said Jonny.
"The Jonny Quest," the man asked, "from the Bailey's World YouTube channel?"
"The one and only," nodded Jonny.
"Nice to meet you," said the man, "I'm Frank Hardy."
Jonny was surprised.
"You must be one of those Hardy brothers your friend Lori mentioned when we visited here," said Jonny.
"Yup," said Frank, "would you like to come inside?"
"Sure," said Jonny.
"And your friends out there can come in, too," said Frank.
Jonny then ran to the van and told the others they were invited, so Bailey, Freddie, Hudson, Henry, and Dice entered the house, where they saw another young man sitting next to Lori on the couch.
"Who's that," asked Dice.
"That's my brother Joey," said Frank, "he's Lori's boyfriend."
"Hey Frank," said Joey as he walked over, "who're these guys?"
"They're the boys from that Bailey's World YouTube channel Lynn told us about last week," said Frank.
"Nice to meet you all," said Joey.
"Anyways," said Jonny, "we came to see Lynn. May we see her?"
"Sure," said Joey, "She got back from field hockey practice 2 hours ago."
Frank called Lynn downstairs and when she did, she was surprised to see her new friends there.
"What are you guys doing here," Lynn asked.
"For you, my chica preciosa," said Jonny as he handed Lynn the bouquet.
"Oh, Jonny," said Lynn, "they're beautiful!"
Frank, Joey, and Lori were all confused.
"What is going on," Lori whispered in Joey's ear.
"I don't know," Joey whispered back.
"Lynn," said Jonny, "ever since I saw you, your face has ignited a series of feelings in my heart."
"Thanks," said Lynn, "but, what are you trying to get at?"
"Lynn," asked Jonny, "will you...be my girlfriend?"
Lynn was surprised at Jonny's question. In fact, she was so surprised that her eyes filled up with tears of joy.
"Yes," Lynn cried as she embraced Jonny.
Both Hardy brothers were speechless. Frank even fainted.
"Have I just died and gone to Heaven," Frank wondered to himself.
Just then, Joey looked over and saw Lori crying onto his shoulder.
"What's wrong," asked Joey.
"Nothing," said Lori, "I'm just so happy for Lynn!"
"Me too, my Ku'u Momi Makamae," said Joey as he put his arm around Lori.
"So, Lynn," asked Jonny, "have you got anything planned for next Friday?"
"I don't think so," said Lynn, "I only have practice every other Monday, which happened to be today. Why did you ask?"
"Well," said Jonny, "I was kinda wondering if you would like to go out with me."
"I like movies," said Lynn, "I'll buy the popcorn. OK?"
"Yeah," said Jonny, "A movie sounds good! So...Friday?"
"Friday," said Lynn.
"Great," said Jonny, "well, we better be going now. It was nice meeting you, Joey and Frank!"
"You too," said Joey as Jonny and his friends left.
"Mission accomplished," said Dice as they got back in the van.
"Well that wasn't so bad," said Jonny.
"Hey guys," asked Bailey, "who's up for a bowling game to celebrate?"
"Yeah," said Freddie, "let's do it!"
With that, the friends drove off to the bowling alley to celebrate their big accomplishment.
