Summary[]

Lori wants to get her siblings out the door on time for once, but that task proves to be easier said than done.

Story[]

One evening, Lori was sitting on the couch, when Frank and Joey walked over next to her.

"What's wrong with you", Frank asked.

"My sisters got referrals for being late to school today", Lori said, "this is the third time this year."

"Yikes", Joey said, "I feel bad for you."

"You should", Lori said, "ever since the bus got re-routed, and your Pacer was brought to the mechanic to be worked on, I've been in charge of getting them to school on time."

"Well, maybe one of us could take care of getting them ready for school", Frank said.

"No", Lori said, "I've got a plan that just might work."

The next morning, Lori woke up at 5:00, got dressed, and went downstairs.

"Alright", Lori said, "the sun will be rising soon, I need to make breakfast for them."

Lori baked some chocolate chip muffins and put them on the counter, and also set town two bowls, one full of bacon, and one full of orange slices.

"There", Lori said, "done."

She then noticed the water in her glass had began to shake.

"And just in time", Lori said.

Her sisters then ran downstairs and began eating.

"So far so good", Lori said, "now to get them ready for school."

As her sisters crowded the bathroom, Lori grabbed the keys to her Chevrolet Suburban.

"There", Lori said, "now all I have to do is..."

She then heard a scream.

"That sounded like Lola", Lori said.

Lori saw that Lola's dress was dyed black.

"Look what Lucy did", Lola said, "she painted my dress black!"

"Actually, it's purple, but hey, potato-potato", Lucy said.

Lori was angered.

"Lucy", Lori said, "apologize."

"Fine", Lucy said, "I'm sorry."

"Apology not accepted", Lola said, "my mind was set on wearing this dress today."

"Enough", Lori said, "you wear the exact same kind of dress every day."

"But that was my favorite", Lola said, "you know what, if I can't wear the dress I want, then I'm not going to school!"

Lola angrily stormed up to her and Lana's room and slammed the door.

"What are you sill doing here", Lori asked, "take your spooky self to the car."

As Lucy headed to the car, Luna then ran over to Lori.

"What is it", Lori asked.

Luna dis some hand motions.

"Use your words", Lori said.

Lisa walked over.

"We said the same word at the same time, and I called jinx", Lisa said, "now she can't talk until I say her name."

"Why", Lori asked.

"I'm tired of sitting next to her in the very back of the car", Lisa said, "her loud singing gives me tinnitus."

"Well", Lori said, "can she speak at her school?"

"I don't think so", Lisa said, "if she speaks, she has to wear blue and white striped pajamas and old lady shoes, so I planted a bug on her shoelace so I'll be the first to know if she speaks."

Lori was becoming frustrated.

"Un-jink her", Lori said.

"Never", Lisa said.

Lisa walked away laughing.

"I so need a bathroom break", Lori said.

Lori walked over to the bathroom, and stepped on something.

"Ow", Lori said.

She had stepped on one of Lola's fake jewels.

"I thought I told her to pick these up", Lori said.

Lori put the jewel in a plastic bag, grabbed a magazine, and sat down on the toilet.

"I don't get it", Lori said, "it was all going so well up until now."

Lori looked at her watch, and suddenly became boosted with confidence.

"I've got half an hour before they need to be there", Lori said, "I can still get them ready for school and in the car on time."

Lori walked outside and saw Luna sitting on the stairs.

"First up, Luna", Lori said.

Lori took out a tape recorder and played a recording of Lisa saying Luna's name.

"Yes", Luna said, "I can talk again!"

Lisa had witnessed this and fell on her knees.

"No", Lisa shouted.

"Sorry, Lisa", Lori said, "you're gonna have to suck it up."

Lisa sadly walked out the door.

"That's Luna's problem solved", Lori said, "now I have to solve Lola's."

Lori walked over to Lola and Lana's room and knocked on the door.

"Come on, Lola", Lori said, "we need to go."

"Go away", Lola said.

Lori angrily walked downstairs.

"This is ridiculous", Lori said, "she wears the same dang dresses every day."

Lori then got an idea.

"Of course", Lori said.

Lori went into the laundry room, got a clean dress, and went over to Lola's bedroom.

"Lola", Lori said, "I fixed your dress."

Lola left the room and put the dress on.

"Thanks", Lola said, "now let's go."

Lori smiled with triumph.

"And she didn't even notice", Lori said.

Lori loaded all her sisters' backpacks into the trunk and got in the car.

"Is everybody ready", Lori asked.

"Wait", Lynn said, "where's Leni?"

Leni walked outside and got in the shotgun seat.

"Had to get my sunglasses", Leni said.

Lori then started the car.

"Let's roll", Lori said.

After dropping off her sisters, Lori arrived home and plopped down on the couch.

"Well", Lori said, "it was difficult, but I managed to get them out the door on time."

Then, her younger siblings entered the house, upsetting Lori.

"Don't tell me you got expelled already", Lori said.

"We didn't", Luan said, "there's no school today."

Lori was shocked.

"There's a teacher conference at our schools", Lana said.

"So I did all that for nothing", Lori asked, "why didn't anyone tell me?"

"We forgot", Luna said, "it wasn't until after you dropped us off that we got the reminder on our phones."

Lori then began laughing, and eventually fainted.

"She has a problem", Lisa said.
